Task-Pilot-Vehicle Model Demonstrations

    Using TPV (Task-Pilot-Model) Architecture to represent realistic pilot-in-the-loop behavior.

These videos demonstrate use of the RHE Simulink® software to generate TPV model simulations of various fixed-wing and helicopter flight tasks and maneuvers. In some cases the flight dynamics are modeled using NAVAIR's CASTLE software, in others RHE RotorGen2 math models drive animations based on FlightGear 3D models.

This example illustrates several features of the current TPV model structure programmed in Simulink and includes the setup GUI, some time-history plots, and 3 FlightGear windows showing the view of an outside observer and the forward and side windows from the cockpit.

The maneuver consists of a series of reposition maneuvers over the deck starting with a rearward movement, sideward, vertical, directional, and back to the starting point. The pilot is set for "normal" behavior with inner-loops adjusted to 2 rad/s crossover frequency. A moderate level of noise is injected into pilot cueing.

This 60sec flight task runs first at a faster-than-realtime rate (about 5x), then is repeated at realtime.
